Purdy PSW Junior
Fact Sheet
- For smaller
horsepower tractors
- 12' cut x 35'
long, mounted on a 10'-wide frame
- Rigid blade is
standard; trip blade is optional.
- The three blades
can be swung under the frame to 12' width,
for easy movement. The number one pick-up
blade actually reaches out 3' past the frame,
so as to allow plenty of clearance between
the discharge ridge and the dual tires.
- Each blade has
its own reinforcing frame, with 10"
channel moldboards and 1/2" x 6"
double-bevel reversible blades; this allows
for dirtcarrying capabilities. Other machines
have only a blade mounted on a beam--- hit a
ridge, dirt rolls over--- that is not
leveling.
- Each blade has
its own leveling adjustments, plus
adjustments with the lift rods.
- Each blade is set
at a steep angle, to allow you to work heavy
and trashy ground, plus move more dirt.
- The curvature of
the blade and unique tilt of the moldboard
rolls the dirt for easier pulling.
- Four dual-wheel
assemblies --- conventional or rocking-axle.
- Outside duals are
10' wide, outside to outside, for stability
and to eliminate bounce; inside duals are
3'5" wide, inside-to-inside, for narrow
bridges.
- 9.5 x 15 rib
implement tires, for more floatation, less
bounce, less field compaction, and more
stability.
- Eight 5,200 1 lb.
-payload -capacity hubs and spindles ---
41,600 total capacity.
- Three heavy
bottom runners, plus 6'-tall arches and knee
bracing in the center, to eliminate bounce
and bending in the turns.
- The depth control
stop allows for precision cuts, eliminates
irregular cuts.
- The
positive-steering controls allow for straight
tracking on the road and in the field,
without the machine's drifting from one side
to another.
- The rear wheels
track within 12" of the front in a turn,
and the leveler is easy to back up.
- Rear hydraulic
steering, for maneuverability and ease of
handling.
- The leveler has a
short turning-radius.
- Once mechanically
set, the only adjustment is the depth.
- The leveler is
designed for easy maintenance and, when
needed, easy repair: (a) bolt-in spindles;
remove bolts; call the plant; eliminate a
welder; optional rocking wheel assembly has
weld-in spindles. (b) wheel assembly housings
are bolt-on (c) heavy brass wear bushings,
instead of having a shaft running a tube;
slack in the housing --- replace bushings (d)
entire blade assembly can be dropped, not cut
off, from the machine.
- Recommended h.p.
--- 80 and up. This unit was tested with an
International 760, 80 h.p., single tires, no
front-end weights, and then durability tested
with a 170 h.p. Allis Chalmers tractor.
