Holzhaur: (Serial #57)
This unit was bought in 1975-1976 by Mr. Holzhauer. The leveler was originally an 18' cut x 80' unit, but in 1982 the blades were extended to adjustable cuts of 22 1/2, 19' and 17'. which is standard on today's new levelers.

Mr. Holzhauer has one of the cleanest and most efficient operations in farming. His maintenance and care of equipment is very good.

- The top clevis lip is bent up, but can be straightened.
- Steering needs to be re-bushed.
- Wheel assembly shafts and bushings will need to be replaced in 2 to 3 years.
- It has the original 16.9 x 26R3 tires, 80-85% rubber, with cracking on sidewall.
- 8-hole hubs and spindles. Seals are solid. The bearings are checked each year and packed.
- The leveler is well-greased.
- The 6" x 16"' cylinder shaft is good --- greased every year after use.
- Cable boards are good; cables and turnbuckles are good.
- The frame is solid, not busted or warped. There were 3 minor cracks that had been repaired several years ago. It is holding.
- The 1/2" x 6" cutting edges have approximately 1"' on the downside and can be flipped over.
- Paint is 90-95%.
Mr. Holzhauer has gotten his fields very level and is going into using dirt buckets and grading. He plans to use our A-3, 14' x 60', leveler for maintenance of his fields.
